What is the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society?

The Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and sharing the history and heritage of Lower Pottsgrove Township and the surrounding Sanatoga community through education, preservation, exhibits, and community engagement.

The Society is located in the historic Sanatoga Union Sunday School Chapel.

The museum is open during scheduled open houses, special events, and by appointment when available.

Admission is free during most open houses and community events. Donations are always appreciated and help support the preservation of our collections and historic building.

Can I donate historical items?

Absolutely! We welcome donations of photographs, documents, artifacts, maps, and other items related to the history of Lower Pottsgrove Township and the surrounding area.

Please contact us before bringing items so we can discuss your donation.

Will donated items be returned?

In most cases, donations become part of the Society’s permanent collection. If you have questions about donating or lending an item for display, please contact us.

Why should I become a member?

Membership helps preserve our historic chapel, maintain our collections, support educational programs, and ensure that Lower Pottsgrove’s history is preserved for future generations.

How do I become a member?

Simply complete our Membership Application or join online through our website.


Do I need historical experience to volunteer?

Not at all! We welcome volunteers with all kinds of skills and interests.
