Educational Programs

The Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society brings local history to life through educational programs, museum visits, presentations, and hands-on learning opportunities for children and adults.

Our programs help participants discover the people, places, and events that shaped Lower Pottsgrove Township while encouraging a greater appreciation for preserving our community’s heritage.

Programs for Schools and Youth Groups

Educational visits can be tailored for:

  • School classes and homeschool groups
  • Scouts and youth organizations
  • Summer camps and recreation programs
  • Clubs and community groups
  • Families and multigenerational groups

Programs may include guided museum tours, historic photographs, local artifacts, storytelling, and discussions about how life in Lower Pottsgrove has changed over time.

Local History Topics

Depending on volunteer and resource availability, presentations may explore:

  • The Sanatoga Union Sunday School
  • Early schools and education
  • Historic farms and local businesses
  • Sanatoga Park and Ringing Rocks Park
  • The trolley era and local transportation
  • Sanatoga Speedway
  • Fire companies and community service
  • Historic landmarks and neighborhoods
  • Daily life in earlier generations
  • Preserving photographs, documents, and family stories

Community Presentations

Historical Society volunteers may be available to speak at schools, libraries, senior communities, civic organizations, and other local gatherings. Presentations can be adapted to the group’s age, interests, and available time.
