The demolition of the houses at the corner of East High Street and South Pleasantview Road marked an important change to a familiar Lower Pottsgrove Township location.
The properties were removed as part of plans to construct a new Lower Pottsgrove Township municipal building. The Township had outgrown its former facility at Buchert Road and North Pleasantview Road and required additional space to serve the community.
Photographs documenting the demolition preserve a visual record of the site during this period of transition. Images like these help future generations understand how familiar roads, neighborhoods, and public spaces changed over time.
The Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society thanks Tom Troutman for providing the photographs and helping document this chapter in the township’s development.
