Handcrafted A&P Market Wagon Added to Museum Collection

Local resident Ralph Moser donated a handcrafted model of an A&P Market Wagon to the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society’s museum collection.

The A&P Market Wagon—representing The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company—joined a collection of 23 carefully constructed model wagons donated by Ralph. Two of the models also serve as nightlights.

Before motor vehicles became common, wagons were essential for transportation, business, farming, travel, and public service. The museum’s collection illustrates the many purposes they served and includes models of a buckboard, circus wagon, jail wagon, stagecoach, Amish courting buggy, chuck wagon, and several others.

We sincerely thank Ralph for sharing his craftsmanship and helping the museum illustrate an important part of transportation history.

Visitors can view the wagon collection during a scheduled museum open house or Historical Society event.
